As we move further into 2018, we’ve been working hard to channel our focus to ensure we meet changing business demands. The consumer landscape is dictating the way technology is being utilised and consumed, and we’re now at a critical point where traditional ways of doing business are fast becoming a thing of the past.

‘BYOD’ may be old news, but the Internet of Things (IoT) is now spilling into the corporate landscape, with smart devices for boardroom meetings, smart screens for presentations, responsive IOT based lighting and heating, remote VPN based working (often on unsecured networks), all creating exciting opportunities for improved performance. However, they also open the doors to potentially dangerous vulnerabilities that can result in a loss of important assets, reputational damage, and crippled networks.

It’s becoming more and more apparent that security is (or should be) at the forefront of every organisation’s minds and strategies, especially in the practice of implement change or developing new services.

Digital Business

Digital Business is the here and now. It’s the reality of how we consume and provide technology. There isn’t a business in the developed world that isn’t on this journey, and, whereas some have achieved more than others, we recognise that many organisations and businesses are searching for ways to harness the power of technology to better shape the way in which they offer their services.

There’s clearly a vast amount of potential surrounding Digital Business and the possibilities it presents are endless. Our view is that harnessing this potential is key to increasing both performance and outcomes, especially in view of delivering improved quality of services to customers. However, in order to achieve success within Digital Business organisations need to be aware of the risks, and security challenges that, if not tackled properly, can be a significant constraint on the digital journey of any organisation.

So what does Security First mean?

Italik places Security First and wants to share that methodology with organisations looking to take advantage of the benefits of Digital Business. One of the most important aspects of a Security First mind-set is awareness. Having the right technology is useless without addressing behaviours and minds. The number of connected devices created by the explosion of IoT is presenting real challenges within organisations, but these challenges are solvable and with the right framework can become manageable. Our perspective is that those organisations with a “Security First” mind-set will outperform others knowing that their people and foundations have been fully prepared and equipped against threats, with heightened awareness allowing for safe and secure productivity and innovation.

“Our ‘Security First’ methodology isn’t just about technology, it’s common-sense. It’s as much a mind-set as it is a practice, and it’s one that acknowledges behaviour and awareness as much as technology.

If you take Ransomware for example, this billion-dollar worldwide business is becoming a regular theme in our headlines, and people have been quietly exploited for attackers to view sensitive business information, all because of a lack of knowledge and awareness about the reality of security. Our goal is to help develop businesses into powerful, safe, and secure organisations that can offer real value time and time again, and outperform their competition. We know that by putting Security First, organisations can ensure stable and rapid development.

As we move further into the era of Digital Business, Italik is fully prepared and equipped to face the challenges head on with a ‘Security First’ mentality, and we’re inviting you to join us on this journey”

Cisco Partnership

Part of our pledge to promote a Security First mentality for Digital Business is to build our services on trusted, reliable, and best in class partnerships. Cisco is not only an organisation that is driving the reality of Digital Business, but also acknowledges the importance of placing Security First.

Italik and Cisco form the perfect foundation for any business looking to drive innovation, increase productivity, and deliver exceptional services in a safe and secure, and fully digitally conscious manner.

Cisco’s longstanding robust technology and security centric mind-set matches our core values and goals, and so we are proud to be a Cisco Partner and are looking forward to taking our paired strategy into the marketplace.

“Digital Business is the very incarnation of how companies are now operating. Everyone wants to improve their performance and enhance their services but the reality is, without a strong and reliable partnership in place, what is otherwise very achievable, becomes arduous and disjointed.

We are proud to work with Digital Business and Transformation leaders Cisco whose Security centric focus blends in seamlessly with our way of working. We are excited to be able to drive the adoption of Digital Business by placing Security First with Cisco.”

– Steve Pilkington, Director of Technology, Italik
