The Cortech Open Innovation Event (COIE) will take place on 18th July 2017, hosted by At-Bristol Science Centre.
This is a CPD accredited event with a difference for end users, consultants and main contractors focusing on innovative technology and the latest smart integration techniques for workplace safety, high security and building efficiency.

Paul Spence, marketing and communications manager at Cortech Developments – the risk mitigation specialist and a company that provides integrated software solutions for high security environments and Critical National Infrastructure said: “Previous COIE’s have provided a great platform for collaborative engagement, discussion and debate regarding technology, best practice and industry challenges. This will form an integral part of the COIE series throughout the year as Cortech and our event partners seek to promote knowledge transfer and added value for those either managing buildings or involved in specifying the security requirements for buildings.”
The event aims to challenge us all to think about the way we manage infrastructure and buildings with a view to safety, security, interoperability and sustainability.
Cortech Developments in collaboration with our partner manufacturers provide an environment to facilitate delegate interaction and engagement through organised cluster groups, in addition to the demonstration of the latest technology.

As well as live demonstrations and vendor presentations, there will be a keynote presentation on Cyber Security. We are delighted that our own Technical Director, Steve Pilkington has been invited to address delegates regarding the current cyber-crime landscape. His presentation will centre on what motivates a hacker, how it can affect you, examples of common threats, the 10 steps to cyber risk management and a summary of IT security trends.
“Speakers have proved to be a popular and added value thread to the COIE Series. Cyber security is becoming a fundamental part of business and security strategy and we are delighted that Steve is presenting at the event to impart his considerable knowledge and experience of this specialism” explained Paul Spence (marketing and communications manager at Cortech Developments).

Spence added: “Steve has over 20 years’ experience working in IT as a developer, infrastructure consultant, network/security consultant and more recently as a network security architect. He has also been involved in a wide range of projects ranging from mobile device based Service Management Systems to virtualisation projects, network infrastructure designs and secure architecture.”

If you’re an end user, security consultant or main contractor interested in gaining a greater understanding of smarter interoperability and the mitigation of risk for workplace safety, security and building efficiency, then you can join Cortech Developments and its partners at this event.

Note that places for each event are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
